In 2022, Camp Chief Hector, a cherished institution of YMCA Calgary, reached a momentous milestone by commemorating 50 years of girls at camp.

Honoured to be part of this remarkable event, we eagerly joined forces with YMCA Calgary to weave a narrative that captured the spirit of this historic occasion.

With the goal of conveying the essence of inclusivity and acceptance that has defined Camp Chief Hector for half a century, we embarked on a journey to create a truly impactful experience. And what better way to encapsulate this celebration than by embracing the cherished tradition of gathering around the campfire and singing?

Teaming up with the talented local singer/songwriter, Kate Stevens, we collaborated to compose, perform, and teach a brand-new song to the participants of Camp Chief Hector, marking 50 years since girls first joined the camp. This heartfelt composition not only commemorated the past five decades but also symbolized the enduring commitment to inclusivity and acceptance that will continue to shape Camp Chief Hector in the years to come.
